SCHOOL CENTS FUNDRAISER

Here’s a simple way to help our school, just by shopping at the Westside Pavilion!  All you have to do is save your receipts from purchases made between September 15, 2008 through May 15, 2008 (even through the holidays) to receive ten (10) points for each dollar spent in any non-department (specialty) store, cart, movie, food court or other service/vendor at Westside Pavilion.  Purchases made at Nordstrom or Macy’s will receive five (5) points for each dollar spent. 

Just take your receipts to the mall’s Guest Services, located on the second floor of the mall.   Receipts are logged and returned back to you, immediately! 

Prizes are awarded in June, 2008 as mall-wide gift cards, which are then used to purchase student-use items for Mar Vista Elementary School.  If you do not need your receipts back, you can also drop them in the School Cents Box which will be located in the front lobby of the school from Sept. 15th – May 14th, and Lillian Matayoshi will get them logged for you.

Mall flyers will be sent home periodically, and they will highlight mall events and announce stores that are offering bonus points during that month.  There will also be some months when all points will be doubled, or even tripled! 

For example, for Sept and Oct, if you buy a VISA gift card at guest services and log in your receipt, Mar Vista Elementary will receive quadruple points.  It’s important that the receipts be logged in Sept & Oct and not later than that to receive the quadruple points, otherwise, the school will only receive the regular points.

If you enroll your child in Kids Club at the mall, Mar Vista gets 500 points every time you go to their event in the mall (held 1st & 3rd Wed. of each month – 6:00pm-6:45pm except for Dec. Breakfast with Santa special time on Sat.

Last year, we came in 5th place out of 40 schools and received $1000.  This allowed us to work with Child Welfare program as well as re-stock the prize closet for Mrs. Weinstock’s “Get Caught Being Good” program.  We’ll get even more money this year, if we can place higher in the standings.
